NPR interview on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Every now and then, magic is thrust into the public consciousness. This week, the media was abuzz about the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which will be hosted by Oz Pearlman. Pearlman is not a comedian. He’s a mentalist. I’ve had some ethical concerns about Pearlman’s performances in the past, and I was asked to weigh in on his appearance by NPR journalist Rachel Treisman. You can see the printed piece at https://www.npr.org/2026/04/23/nx-s1-5786573/oz-pearlman-mentalist-white-house-correspondents-dinner.

A snippet from my interview also played on NPR’s Morning Edition. You can listen to that piece below.

I would not be surprised if there was a follow-up piece after Pearlman’s performance. Stay tuned.
